How are teams formed?
During the first 4-6 weeks of practice, coaches will thoroughly evaluate players at each age level. Players will be assessed on fundamental skills (passing, serving, hitting), athletic abilities and developmental potential. We form teams based on these evaluations. Our goal is a total of 10 players per team (2-OH, 2-RS, 2-Setters, 2-Middles, 2-DS/Libero). Evaluations will rank players by position with the two players at each position with the highest evaluation score placed on team one, the next two to team two, etc. In the event we need to place more than 10 players on a team, you will be notified and club fees adjusted accordingly if you accept placement on that team.
Players may get moved up or down at any point based on coaches' evaluation during the season.

What do club fees cover?
Included in club fees are costs related to training for the season (equipment, facilities rental, coaches’ salaries), event entry fees, player practice t-shirts (2 per player) and administrative costs associated with operating the club. Qualifiers and national events are not included in club fees and will be invoiced separately for those teams attending. Travel expenses for out-of-town events are not included in the fees. Families are responsible for their own travel and hotel expenses for those events. The uniform package (approx. $300) and USAV/AAU membership (approx. $100) are not included in the fees.

How many days a week will we practice and where?
During the first few months of the season TAV practices 3 days a week. Once teams start competing in events, teams practice twice a week. Practices are held at Trinity High School in River Forest. We may also have additional satellite practice locations as needed. We do use school facilities, so our schedule may change based on gym availability.
-
How many tournaments do teams play in and how far do teams travel to play?
All teams will have between 23-26 tournament days. Teams will be entered in the Windy City Power League which will be approx. 8 of those tournament days. The majority of tournaments will be local (within 1-1/2hr driving time). All teams will have at minimum one overnight travel event. Select teams will participate in National Qualifiers. AAU’s in Florida will be on a team/team basis depending on interest.
